AI PCB Inspection | 2D & 3D Vision for Component Detection and Lift Height Measurement
This demonstration showcases an AI-powered PCB motherboard inspection system that combines 2D machine vision and 3D laser profiling to achieve high-precision automated inspection in electronics manufacturing.
After the PCB is accurately positioned, a 2D industrial camera captures high-resolution images of the entire board. Advanced AI vision algorithms instantly inspect for missing components, incorrect assembly, misalignment, and other visual defects with high speed and accuracy.
Following the 2D inspection, a 3D laser line camera scans the PCB surface along a servo-controlled trajectory, generating precise three-dimensional profile data for every component. The system accurately measures component lift height after soldering while simultaneously detecting dimensional defects such as excessive lift, insufficient seating, and solder protrusion.
By integrating 2D visual inspection with 3D height measurement, the solution delivers comprehensive quality control in a single automated process, significantly improving inspection accuracy, production efficiency, and manufacturing consistency.
